Guilty but Graced

Her sins were unforgivable, she was condemned, and the only atonement was for her to be killed. This would wash away atrocities, it would cleanse the land of bad omens, and even make others think and change their ways. Her actions were unacceptable and cannot be atoned for or forgiven. All hopes were lost for her, she was ashamed, dragged in the mud, and she could not hold her head up but buried them in shame, the whole city was descending upon her, and everyone was ready to put a stop to her. All her accusers needed was one single confirmation and that would seal the deal but alas her accusers returned disappointed.

This was the story of the woman caught in Adultery in John 8:1-11

but Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.

At dawn he appeared again in the temple courts, where all the people gathered around him, and he sat down to teach them. The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group and said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now what do you say?” They were using this question as a trap, in order to have a basis for accusing him.

But Jesus bent down and started to write on the ground with his finger. When they kept on questioning him, he straightened up and said to them, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.” Again he stooped down and wrote on the ground.

At this, those who heard began to go away one at a time, the older ones first, until only Jesus was left, with the woman still standing there. 10 Jesus straightened up and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?”

11 “No one, sir,” she said.

“Then neither do I condemn you,” Jesus declared. “Go now and leave your life of sin.”

Can you relate? Are there times and days you have also been buried in the shame of your actions both in the present or the past that you cannot even raise your head high and you just feel condemned?

So many times, we just find ourselves in the middle of accusations and self-defeat, bound by the guilt of errors we have made or are currently making and have even concluded there is no redemption for us again. We constantly ask ourselves who would forgive or even relate with;

  • a serial cheat,
  • a killer who took away a loved one,
  • a thief or a robber who carts away one’s belongings,
  • a serial liar,
  • a fornicator or an adulterer
  • an addict.

This and many more are the labels you have been tagged with and people around you are bent on exposing you and frustrating you until they see your end. There seems to be no room for escape even if you wanted to. It seems a fresh start is out of the equation because you feel trapped, you have even resulted in awaiting your condemnation and end.

Well, I have good news. ‘WHAT OTHERS SEE IS NOT WHAT JESUS SEES’ He sees a life that can be redeemed and renewed, Jesus sees a husband or wife who can be loving and faithful again, he sees a man who can be transformed and give life to others by showing them the way to the cross, he sees a man who can be free from the bondage of lies and filled with the truth, he sees a lady who is a newly washed bride of Jesus despite several atrocities, he sees a man and woman who when free from addiction can help others to overcome the same addiction.

Whatever your story is, you are not unloved or unlovable. How can LOVE Himself refuse to love? So, know that you are loved, cherished, and a special breed. God does not hate you; He only hates and detests the sin in your life. Just like the woman caught in adultery, all your accusers have left disappointed because Jesus advocated for you, he paid all the price for you to be free. Yes, you were guilty, but GRACE is here for you and all you need is to embrace this Grace and leave your life of sin behind.

What do you see this season? I see renewal, I see Grace speaking for you, I see Jesus beckoning unto you to come and enjoy the freedom He has paid for, I see LOVE through the eyes of Faith in the eyes of the Father and the Son Jesus, all for you and me!

How can an unborn or a young child be already wicked when they have not even known their wrong from right? The devil knows that if he can get a child, he can get a family, if he can get a family, he can get a community, if he can get a community, he can get a nation, if he can get a nation then he can get the world! so you’ve got a big job at hand…making sure the devil does not get your child. I heard the story of a 19-year-old who does all kinds of atrocities, even robbing a bank. He definitely did not start at 19 but has been preparing or being prepared from a younger age – for  video
